The Callahan Techniques®Discovered by Dr. Roger Callahan PhD, a Californian clinical psychologist with over 40 years of experience, the Callahan Techniques® (also known as Thought Field Therapy or TFT) is a rapid, precise and robust approach to the resolution of psychological and emotional challenges. Originally developed as a system to eliminate the root cause of negative emotions such as phobias, fears, anxiety, panic, depression, addictions, traumatic stress and associated conditions, it is now becoming recognised as one of the most efficient methods for near instantaneous performance enhancement. Clinical experience over two decades have shown that Dr. Callahan’s techniques can achieve up to 97% success.
The key to this has been Dr. Callahan’s discovery of the natural code that governs the emotional control system of the body, and an effective treatment for the phenomenon of self-sabotage – the tendency for some individuals to unconsciously hold back their own progress despite outwardly expressing the desire to move forward.
Now in its twenty-first year of development, the Callahan Techniques are extraordinarily powerful in that the majority of individuals obtain positive results almost immediately. Most significantly, this does not require the individual to talk about or confront the issue of concern, something that often causes considerable distress or embarrassment and which discourages many from seeking help in the first place. It is also extremely efficient (treatment times of 10 minutes or less not uncommon) and has no adverse side effects. In fact, the basic procedures are so simple that guided treatment over the telephone is possible.
So, how do the Callahan Techniques work?
When we think of a particular troublesome emotion (such as fear, anger or guilt, for example) we generate an individual thought field in much the same way as an electrical field is generated around an item of electrical equipment. According to Dr. Callahan’s theory, such emotional problems are generated by equally specific interference patterns in these Thought Fields, which he describes as “perturbations”. These perturbations have been found to be the generating power behind the emotional (and occasionally, physical) signs and symptoms we all recognise. Most existing strategies simply attempt to subdue those symptoms with drugs (with varying degrees of success), or the patient is taught coping skills over an extended period of time. Whatever the outcome of such approaches the perturbations in the Thought Field (the cause of the problem in the first place) still remain. In order to remove the perturbations completely, and therefore the problem itself, one must apply a code that nature has provided.
Put simply, the Callahan Techniques work like opening a combination lock. You may well know all of the numbers, but if you don’t apply them in the correct order, the lock won’t open. The Callahan Techniques not only reveal the correct code, but also the application sequence required for successful treatment. When the identified energy points are simply tapped with the fingers in the precise sequence, most people notice an immediate and dramatic improvement in the way that they feel. Quite often, the person can be asked to try and recover the negative emotion that has just been resolved – the most common answer to this challenge is “I can’t!”.
Of course, it is very easy for someone to make claims such as these if there is no opportunity for others, sceptical or otherwise, to check them out.
